The prop sword is used in Season 1 Episode 6 by both Cotton Mather and John Alden.

Though she was fascinated and grateful for the power that Mercy seemed to use for her benefit, in the end, she wanted nothing more than an escape from it all. She would long for this only after it was too late, and was forced to bleed for Mercy to regain her beauty and health. Before her untimely demise, she wore this charcoal gray corset. This blouse in particular has tie-on-sleeves and can be seen in Season 2 Episode 6

While carrying all of these responsibilities, he also has to carry his tools, of course. Included in his Dr's Satchel are real glass bottles, and a large green medical jug.

The renowned traveling hunter came to Salem not to visit his son, but to ensure that he knows how to handle the brewing witch activity properly. In a misguided way, he did love his son, but, sadly, Cotton was never quite certain if he ever did. To find out what Increase knew before he was killed, Mary dug his head up and conjured his soul from the depths of hell. This prop can be seen in episodes six and seven from season two.

SLM-307 Increase Mather's Portrait - Cotton, being a generally good soul who always tries to do the right thing is being eaten alive by his murderous sin. He tries to reason with himself by talking to a portrait of his father, convincing himself that he was trying to save his father from committing a murderous sin when in reality Cotton likely wanted his father dead for a long time. The war of good and evil rages on inside Cotton and he starts to be driven mad by the portrait's piercing gaze (a likeness that is uncanny) and he goes to stab the painting like a madman. This is one of three portraits, all unique from each take in Season 2 Episode 1.

It was the Knot that Binds the Wind that sold the captain out, and when Increase destroyed it's magic, and the captain, his work on that ship was done.
